Your Words Are Sweet

Psalm 119vs124

“I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love,

and teach me your decrees.”

Psalm 119:124 (NLT)

YOUR WORDS ARE SWEET

By Linda A. Knowles

Like Mary, O God, let me sit at Your feet

to devour the Words that You speak

For Your Words are like honey on my lips

And Your decrees ever sweet.

Deal with Your servant gently, O Lord,

and teach me Your ways;

That I may listen to all Your commands

to take heed of and obey.

Sweet Song, Sweet Melody

MY SWEET SONG, MY SWEET MELODY

Written By Linda A. Knowles

My Sweet Song,

My Sweet Melody,

My God to whom I sing.

Abba,

Sweet Melody,

You are my song-

Through every day,

Through every night.

You are the sweetest song I know,

My Sweet Melody;

And I will glory in who You are,

And sing praises to Your name.

CALVARY’S LOVE

Written By Linda A. Knowles

I look up to see

Calvary’s Love

Upon The Old Rugged Cross

Telling of Redemption’s Story

of Jesus the Christ

And the price He paid

Badly beaten

Then crucified

And being wounded for our transgressions

Bruised for our iniquities

By whose stripes we are healed

And as I look upon the Old Rugged Cross

My Savior is no longer there

For He rose up from the dead

With glorious resurrection power

Conquering death, hell, and the grave

My Triumphant Savior and Lord

The God of Victory

“…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

Romans 10:9-10 (ESV)

“The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction!  But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.”

1 Corinthians 1:18 (NLT)

Fallen Redwood & Ash

FALLEN REDWOOD & MOUNTAIN ASH

By Linda A. Knowles

March 2018

REDWOOD 1

O Mighty Redwood and Mountain Ash,

whose girth of trunk and superlative height none

could, at one time, compare!

Nevertheless, you have fallen!

And Jezebel and Ahab suffocate you;

and the vultures fly overhead,

to seek out where the carcass lies,

as the Ara Macaos,

perched upon your branches,

cackle and call out,

and they shriek wildly,

sending out their cries

and flailing their wings all about.

“Make Me Like Wax”

MAKE ME LIKE WAX

Written By Linda A. Knowles

October 2003

CANDLE 1

Make me like wax before the fire,

Softened and easy to shape.

Though my flesh roars out

for acts and crusades of rebellion,

May my spirit always yield

and submit to your ways.

Though purification

from selfishness and pride,

wrongful ways and sinful attitudes

may inflict temporal pain,

cleansed me as You did Isaiah

when the coal touched his lips

so I may be with You

from everlasting to everlasting.

May I continually strive

along your paths of righteousness

and seek out Your ways

that I might not become calloused

and lose First Love.

Legend In Your Own Mind

LEGEND IN YOUR OWN MIND

Written By Linda A. Knowles

You are a legend

in your own mind

and you can’t

even seem to find

a little

not even a drop

of the dirt you threw at

the one

who dared escape

your vicious claws

and all this time

you believed

that one would continue

to drag behind.

A vulture-

That you are

and your conscience

seared

and the one

who escaped

your talons

flies high and free

above the trees

to mountain heights

having mounted up with wings

like an eagle

and soaring

through the air

upheld by His powerful hands.

Amazing Love

AMAZING LOVE

CROSS 1

*

Amazing love, O Lord My God!

Amazing love I cannot fathom!

No matter what I do,

Your love never changes,

Your love still remains.

*

Amazing love, O Lord My God!

Such amazing love!

If I could only see,

the depth,

the height,

the width,

of Your unending love so sublime;

But even then,

I would not be able to fully comprehend.
