“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation.” -Hebrews 11:1-2
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” –James 1:2-8 (ESV)
“God wants you to have something
far better than riches and gold,
and that is helpless dependence upon Him.”
-James Hudson Taylor-
There is no other kind of dependence on God other than helpless dependence, a blind unwavering faith. We cannot even breathe on our own without God. What would ever make us think we can live without Him?
And when you completely abandon yourself to God,
it’s a decision you will never regret.
“For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, ‘Fear not, I am the one who helps you.'”
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.”
“He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.”
“Every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter.”
Charles Haddon Spurgeon
“Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.” –Matthew 7:15-20
Much Love To You All,
“I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.” -Maya Angelou
When we give of ourselves to help those around us, we demonstrate the love of Christ; and in the Gospels, when we see our Savior being moved with compassion, we also should be moved with compassion as we follow His example and help those around us.
May we always remember to be His hands extended.
Much love to you all,
“Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” -Luke 6:38
“For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.” -Hebrews 6:10
“And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” -Hebrews 13:16
Laughter is a good thing. Laugh when you can. Laugh at yourself. You have to have a sense of humor in this life. Life is far too short to be taken so seriously. Yes, serious things happen in life; that’s why you should laugh.
The only thing that keeps you from moving forward is you.
Get out of your own way, and take a chance.
While there are many opportunities that will cross your path in your lifetime, opportunities do pass. Don’t let opportunities pass by you because you’re scared of trying or because you’re scared of failing. Take hold of them. You’ll never know what you’re capable of until you take the first step. By taking a chance, you won’t have regrets afterwards.
